THE ORGINS OF LOUIANNA

Molise is a modestly small-populated region located in south central Italy bordering on the eastern side of the Adriatic Sea and approximately 130 miles south east of Rome. The region is graced with picturesque mountains and acres of farmland in an envelop of the freshest organic fruits and vegetables and of course infamous olive trees that have produced natures purest liquid gold for centuries. If you make a trip to this region, you would find ruins dating as far back as the first century. Molise’s name means the land of everyone. The Romans conquered Molise in the 4th century. B.C. and after the fall of Rome it came under the Lombard duchy of Benevento in the 6th to the 11th century. This region was conquered by Longobardis, Saracem, Byzantine, and later by Fred II. In the ancient part of this region you can find Monforte Castle. The most popular area is the seaside resort located along the Adriatic Sea in Termoli. In Termoli you can visit the Swabian Castle built in 1247 and 13th century Cathedrals. Molise has two provinces Campobasso and Isernia. Campobasso is the largest city, which only has 50,000 residents.

The Louianna Estates are located in a small hilly town of Montorio Nei Frentani , which is a village that sits alone on the highest point having a view over organic lands. Montorio Nei Frentani is over 654 meters above the Adriatic Sea level in the province of Campobasso, Molise, Central Italy. Montorio Nei Frentani has a population of 550 inhabitants. This town was founded in Lombard times, first belonged to the county of Larino in the Norman period (11 th century). In the 19 th and 20 th centuries, Montorio Nei Frentani suffered the most emigration of all the places in Molise: after 1866 hundreds of the residents went to Argentina, then after the First World War some residents emigrated to the USA. Finally, in the 1950's over 2,000 residents left to Canada, and other hundreds to Northern Italy and Europe .
